LIMINOWL

I just made and had the ultimate lunch, using ingredients I bought from my first ever shopping trip at a farmer’s market: tiny little zucchini and squash flowers. I also used some sweet corn I already had.

Look at those little baby zucchini! So cute! And yeah I ended up using a lot more flowers than that—but that’s ok because I got an enormous bag of them for $3.

Chop garlic, onions, zucchini and saute everything with a splash of fish sauce and a tiny pinch of sugar. The flowers go in last—they wilt down quite a bit. Almost like spinach but without any unpleasant liquid.

Eggs: my main source of protein. I will pretty much scramble anything with eggs. No exception here.

Ugly photo, but my scramble was delicious. The corn kernels were like tiny pearls of crunchy sweetness; the zucchini was buttery and it soaked up all the garlic/onion flavor really well; and the flowers were soft and tender, with a really mild and pleasant vegetable flavor that’s hard to describe. I was too busy eating to think about what to compare it to, though…
