I just want to show you guys I’m alive! I spent the previous week doing Medical Humanities stuff (theater, creative writing, art, etc) and now I’m spending a week at home doing research. By research, I mean enjoying mom’s cooking and napping on a mat in the grass under a cherry tree.

But I don’t have my tablet at my parents’, so I’m posting a preview of something I started as a medical humanities project and still working on…

I really hate drawing fabrics and ruffles. I need to force myself to learn how…But after I learn Pharmacology…

Many of my favorite ice cream flavors are green: pistachio, basil, green tea, mint chocolate chip. So of course I’m going to want to personify them. Poor mint chocolate chip didn’t fit in my sketchbook. I’ve got her outfit in my head, though.

Sneak preview of something else I started after midnight on Sunday. I think this one’s going to turn out nice—stay tuned!

40 Day Dream- Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros

Sometimes I get so overwhelmed by work that I shut down and stop doing work. And I draw instead. I drew this last night instead of doing the million things I should have been doing—or sleeping.  And then I did my work and went to bed at 3AM.

But I think it was worth it…these hipsters turned out super cute. I might finish this someday.

Made sketches for my newest long-term project, a fashion Zodiac series focusing on the mythological origins of the each Zodiac sign…

…instead of studying. Good thing these 8 sketches only took like 3 HOURS

I’m going to fail anatomy and it will be ok because I make silly drawings of pretty ladies *facepalm*

Last four will be coming later…when I don’t have to study??

Guess what I’m doing instead of reading up on Greek mythology??

Coloring this has been pretty fun, since the Disney artists have already chosen all the colors for me. The only things I had problems with were: 

• Mulan. She has three ensembles, and I was originally going to do the blue/maroon dress she wears at the end…but the military jacket didn’t look good/make sense in blue. I’m really happy with how it turned out, using the colors from the first dress she wears in the film.
• Snow White. I really didn’t want her to come off clownish or corny, or like she had torn a Mondrian from the wall and used it as a dress. Though that may be interesting…
• Rapunzel. Her dress is purple on purple on purple-ish pink. Jasmine wears all blue, but all-blue is different from all-purple, which strangely doesn’t translate into modern fashion too well, unless you’re the Purple Lady. May tweak some more

Anyway, now for LINEART. And this is going to be A LOT of lineart. Ugh. But I’m still pretty excited to see how the final product comes out!
