2012 Olympics opening ceremony!

The first ~hour was so spectacular and thrilling—loved the scenes of pastoral life and then industry (the music during the industrial revolution part wow) and of course that Mary Poppins-Voldemort scene. Screamed at JK Rowling’s face. Ohh and those rings rising!!

But then the rest of it was just ??? I can imagine my parents at home watching with the same befuddlement haha

When the parade of nations started, I stuck around for Australia, then a bunch of us went off to play Taboo until the US walked. When Vietnam walked I think some people were expecting me to cheer and I was like, “mmm nope”

And finally, we sang “Hey Jude.” It was a good night but if the entire ceremony was as awesome as the first part, it would have been amazing. Sydney and Beijing still win for me.
